Social networking is an effective tool to promote tourism as revealed in the conference "Web in Travel" in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/04/2014). Nowadays, there are 65 million people connected with Facebook in Indonesia. That figure means that 90 percent of internet penetration in Indonesia.
"They're looking for information on travel via Facebook. Social media became source-essense to seek necessary travel information," said E-commerce & Travel Strategist Facebook, Simrat Sawhney.
He said 55 percent of consumers’ good users especially travel products and hospitality services can be found via Facebook.
Meanwhile, Director of Guest Experience of Accor Asia Pacific, Emilie Couton said that to promote tourism services or products through social networking may visualize through games and images. He said the Indonesian thrilled with the games and visual images as well as the main attraction.
