The MoU signing took place during Jakarta Kreatif Festival 2026, facilitated by the Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office in collaboration with the Center for Export Human Resources Development and Trade Services (PPEJP), an institution dedicated to strengthening Indonesia’s export capabilities through capacity building and international trade development programs.

This strategic partnership reinforces Miumosa’s international presence through collaboration with a Netherlands-based partner while creating new opportunities for distribution, business matching, and market development across Europe.

Innovation Begins in the Margins (An intro to Miumosa eJournal: Every Pour Begins with a Story)

Friday, July 3, 2026

“Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.”
— Leonardo da Vinci

There is a belief that has gradually changed the way I think about design.

Our attention often begins—and ends—with the finished object. We admire its form, appreciate its function, and celebrate its beauty. Yet long before a piece becomes something we can hold, there is another space that is rarely seen: pages of sketches, handwritten notes in the margins, months of research, conversations with artisans, and the quiet persistence of refining an idea over and over again. It is there, I believe, that innovation truly begins.

Building Miumosa has taught me that the greatest value of a creation does not reside solely in the object itself, but in the idea that gave birth to it. Every design carries knowledge, cultural identity, lived experience, and time. It is intellectual property worthy of recognition—not only once it becomes a product, but from the very moment it exists as an idea.

This perspective feels increasingly relevant as intellectual property becomes one of the defining pillars of tomorrow’s creative economy. Through the ongoing work of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), we are reminded that creativity is far more than artistic expression. It is an economic asset, a catalyst for innovation, and a means of preserving cultural heritage for generations to come.

That realization has led Miumosa into its next chapter.

Today, we are exploring how technology can serve as a guardian—not a replacement—of the creative process. By developing an intellectual property ecosystem supported by RFID and blockchain technologies, we envision a future where every design possesses a verifiable identity, every work carries a documented provenance, and every creator receives rightful recognition for the ideas they bring into the world. To us, innovation is not only about creating something new. It is equally about ensuring that what is valuable retains its authenticity, integrity, and meaning over time.

This is where our journey is heading.

Miumosa will always create artworks rooted in the richness of Indonesian culture. Yet our purpose now extends beyond the products themselves. We aim to help build an ecosystem where creativity is valued as intellectual capital, where culture is valued as living knowledge, and where technology helps protect both. So they remain relevant, trusted, and enduring for generations to come.

Because every creation will eventually find its owner. But only those whose stories are carefully preserved will become a legacy.

— Anindya Sukarni
Founder & CEO, Miumosa

Where Rivers, Forests, and Living Traditions Endure

Wednesday, July 1, 2026

In Kalimantan, rivers are more than waterways—they are lifelines. Flowing through ancient rainforests, they have carried people, traditions, and stories across generations. Along the Mahakam River lives one of Indonesia's rarest treasures, the Pesut Mahakam, a freshwater dolphin whose presence has long symbolized the river and the harmony between humans and nature.

Among these waters lives the Pesut Mahakam, Indonesia's endemic freshwater dolphin. For generations, its presence has symbolized the health of the river and the delicate balance between humans and nature. To the people of Kalimantan, the Pesut is far more than a rare species; it is a reminder that prosperity flows only when rivers are protected, forests are respected, and every living being shares the same home with mutual care.

This understanding is deeply rooted in the philosophy of the Dayak people. Through the principle of Belom Bahadat, life is guided by honor, mutual respect, communal responsibility, and reverence for both ancestors and nature. Forests are not simply resources to be consumed, rivers are not merely routes to travel, and the Lamin longhouse is more than architecture—it is where stories, customs, and values are passed from one generation to the next. In this worldview, harmony is achieved not only between people and nature, but also with the Creator and the wider community. It is this balance that allows culture to remain alive, not as history, but as everyday practice.

These values continue to be expressed through the rich visual language of Dayak artistry. The Aso motif, a mythical guardian creature, symbolizes protection, strength, and spiritual resilience. The graceful Pakis motif reflects growth, renewal, and the continuity of life, while ornaments inspired by the Mandau represent honor, courage, and responsibility. More than decorative elements, these motifs embody collective memory and ancestral wisdom. Every carving, every woven pattern, and every symbol serves as a quiet reminder of the values that continue to shape Dayak identity today.

At Miumosa, we believe that heritage continues to thrive when it becomes part of everyday life. Inspired by the enduring spirit of Kalimantan, we present the Budaya Silk Scarf: Kalimantan Edition and Prajna: Pouring Culture – Kalimantan Edition—two contemporary interpretations of the same cultural narrative.

The Budaya Silk Scarf, crafted in luxurious silk twill and silk satin, celebrates the intricate beauty of Dayak motifs through fabrics chosen for their soft touch, elegant drape, and ability to reveal every detail with remarkable clarity. Complementing the scarf, the Prajna tea set—consisting of a teapot, two cups, and two saucers—brings these cultural narratives into moments of everyday gathering. Every cup poured becomes an invitation to pause, connect, and appreciate the stories carried within each motif.

Rather than redefining these cultural symbols, the collection seeks to honor them. It invites Indonesian heritage to remain present in contemporary living—not only as objects to admire, but as traditions to wear, rituals to share, and stories to pass on.

---

A Visual Lexicon

Each motif in this collection reflects a layer of Kalimantan's cultural landscape. Drawn from nature, tradition, and the visual heritage of the Dayak people, these elements are reinterpreted with care—preserving their essence while finding a place within contemporary design.

Pesut Mahakam

Rendered in fine linework, the Pesut Mahakam motif is interwoven with the Tengkawang pattern to evoke the quiet movement of the Mahakam River. Endemic to these waters, the freshwater dolphin has long been regarded as a symbol of the delicate relationship between people and the river that sustains them.

Talawang

Derived from the traditional Talawang shield of the Dayak people, this motif represents protection. Within the composition, it serves as a symbolic guardian of the Pesut Mahakam, reflecting a shared responsibility to safeguard both cultural heritage and the natural world.

Tengkawang Ampiek

Named after the Tengkawang tree and Ampiek, meaning carving in the Kutai language, this motif draws from East Kalimantan's ornamental traditions. Long associated with the abundance of the forest and the continuity of life, it occupies the heart of the composition, where it is subtly reinterpreted through Miumosa's signature monogram.

Kawung Monogram

The Kawung motif is reimagined through the Miumosa monogram as a unifying element throughout the scarf. Its measured geometry introduces a sense of rhythm and balance, complementing the organic forms inspired by Kalimantan's rivers and forests.

The Wisdom of Poleng & Calon Arang, Preserving Bali's Living Heritage

Wednesday, July 1, 2026

For the Balinese, culture is not confined to temples or ceremonies. It is woven into the rhythm of everyday life—expressed through offerings placed at dawn, the warmth of kinship within each banjar, and a deep awareness that harmony is sustained through the balance between humanity, nature, and the divine. This philosophy, known as Tri Hita Karana, reminds every generation that life flourishes when these relationships remain in equilibrium. Within this living tradition, every object, every gesture, and every motif carries meaning beyond its visual form.

Among Bali's most enduring cultural expressions are Poleng and Calon Arang. The black-and-white checks of Poleng embody the philosophy of Rwa Bhineda—the coexistence of opposing forces such as light and darkness, courage and humility, strength and compassion. Rather than representing conflict, the motif reminds us that harmony is born through balance. Calon Arang, meanwhile, is one of Bali's most profound cultural narratives. More than a legendary figure, the story reflects the duality of fear and wisdom, destruction and renewal, reminding us that every force in life must ultimately return to balance. These motifs continue to appear in ceremonial attire, sacred spaces, traditional performances, and cultural celebrations—not merely as decoration, but as visual expressions of values that remain deeply rooted in Balinese life.

Inspired by this enduring wisdom, Miumosa presents The Poleng and Calon Arang silk scarves as part of its cultural collection. Rather than replicating tradition, each design reinterprets these philosophies through a contemporary visual language while honouring their cultural origins. Chosen for its luminous drape, exceptional softness, and timeless elegance, silk becomes more than a canvas—it becomes a medium worthy of carrying stories across generations. Whether crafted in pure silk or silk satin, the fabric captures the richness of every motif with remarkable depth, allowing each scarf to move with grace while offering lasting comfort and refinement.

This collection is not an attempt to redefine the meaning of Poleng or Calon Arang. It is an invitation to carry their wisdom beyond ceremonial spaces and into contemporary life with respect and understanding. At Miumosa, we believe culture remains alive not only when it is preserved, but when it continues to be appreciated, shared, and lived by new generations.

"Rwa Bhineda reminds us that opposing forces are not meant to defeat one another, but to exist in balance. It is within that balance that harmony is found." — Balinese Philosophy
